Most green bean casseroles have the fried onions on the top. This recipe gives you the onion flavor throughout the dish.
3 (14 1/2 oz) cans French green beans, drained
1 (10 1/2 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 package dry onion soup mix
1/2 pt. sour cream
1/2 cup bread crumbs
Butter
Combine beans & mushroom soup. Add onion soup mix & sour cream. Place in a 3 quart casserole, cover with the bread crumbs, & dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
(You can also use a stuffing mix on the top instead of bread crumbs)
